More than just a movie...

The Ghost Club is a fun, roller-coaster ride of a movie, but it's more than that. The Ghost Club is a storyscape that can be experienced in multiple ways, on lots of different kinds of screens--movie, computer, and mobile. Our goal of introducing The Ghost Club through a transmedia storyscape is to emerse fans into an alternate reality that will engage and entertain them, enabling them to discover, explore and even participate in the world of ghosts and hunters... maybe even uncover their own personal haunting.

The Ghost Club storyscape is told through twitter feeds, websites, exclusive webisodes of The Ghost Club Girls - a prequel series - that will be released to our supporters through Kickstarter, and, my personal favorite, an augmented reality mobile game that lets you hunt your very own ghosts.

Last year, close to this time, I was down in Atlanta hunting ghosts. Of course, I didn't find them... so much as they found me.

The Ghost Club--a film I co-wrote and acted in--is about a reality TV ghost hunting show that has a nasty run-in with real dead ghosts. In other words--be careful what you wish for.

The film was shot in 2011 in 2 weeks of nights, and is very close to be finished. We just need some finishing touches--sound, special effects, color correction, and a final edit.

We are raising the money we need on Kickstater, a website that let's you crowd-source funding for creative projects.

MobLogic

There's a great article on NewTeeVee about MobLogic, the next series from the folks who brought you WallStrip, and produced by a good friend of mine.

Looks to be a fun show... the tone of Wallstrip applied to politics and news. About freakin' time. Are you paying attention old news media? This is that time in all those Spike Lee movies where he appears with a giant stop sign, and screams "WAKE UP!"

OK, OK, so it's brought to you by CBS digital... I know, I know... but at least it looks like they are doing it right.

The "Tag, You're It!" website launched today...


Tag, You're It! is a project that explores collaborative media creation by applying the rules of the Surrealists’ exquisite corpse game to filmmaking. A panel at SXSW on Tuesday, March 11th from 5-6pm will discuss the project and issues around this kind of collaboration.

Throughout 2008, a diverse group of filmmakers will create a feature film, utilizing the exquisite corpse structure as a mode of collaboration. Each team will create a 4-5 minute segment on film or video. When they are finished they will pass only the last minute of their film to the next team, along with a prop or object featured in their segment, and photographs of all the actors who have appeared in the project. No other information will change hands. The next team must incorporate some or all of these elements into their segment. Each production team has two weeks to write, cast, shoot, and edit their segment. The final product will be a feature-length film, in which the complete narrative will be revealed for the first time. The final film will be submitted to the 2009 South By Southwest Film Festival.

Tag, You're It!

We've recently kicked off Tag, You're It! Here's a description:

In 2008, a team of filmmakers will create an exquisite corpse (google “surrealists”) feature film to explore how narrative changes when it is collectively owned. Each team will create a 5 minute segment on film or video. When they are finished, they will pass the last minute of their film to the next team, along with headshots of the actors involved, and an object featured in their segment. No other information will change hands. The next team must incorporate one of these elements into their piece and will have 2 weeks to write, cast, shoot, and edit their segment. The final product will be a feature-length film, in which all of the elements that make up the narrative will be revealed for the first time.

The panel, comprised of the major creative filmmaking roles (director, writer, editor, actor, DP) will discuss the changing rules of content creation, new ways to look at content mashups and their implications. The panel will explore issues of ownership in the world of YouTube, creative control, traditional story structure, and what happens to all of these when they are shattered by an arbitrary set of rules that mandate surrender of control.

podOpera Brooklyn - episode 2

This is the second installment of the new the soap opera where you, the viewer, get to steer the story through your feedback. Luc and Rico try to find out what's happening inside the bar, where Heather and J try to convince Robyn to become Heather's agent. Meanwhile, Dylan tries to have it both ways -- with Robyn AND Cheddar. And Tyler just tries to get some respect. But when Dylan and Cheddar get busted in a backstage grope-out, it's Heather's dreams that go up in smoke. podOpera Brooklyn episode 2 features the music of The One and Only Typicals.
